Business Analyst Skills: MS Office, Visio, MS Access, Testing methodologies & techniques, data/requirements gathering Summary Our client has maintained consistent growth and stability due to their diversified portfolio of products and is looking to add a Business Analyst to their team. In this role you will manage small to mid-size projects, following standard project management methodology. You will also assess, write and communicate business requirements, evaluate and approve technical requirements, develop test plans, test according to those plans and assist with the system design to ensure system functionality. Responsibilities Support Project Managers by performing Business Process Reviews. Assess, write and communicate business requirements, evaluate and approve technical requirements, develop test plans, test according to those plans and assist with the system design to ensure system functionality. Identify affected parties. Notify and educate involved groups. Manage system testing to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. Conduct system and user testing as required to verify system continuity and integration as well as functionality. Perform detailed ad hoc analysis. Organize and write reports. Research and analyze system and manual processes and prepare written recommendations for changes and/or improvements; work with various groups to ensure successful implementations. Develop and write procedures for newly designed processes or systems. Answer questions regarding system functionality and processing procedures and issues. Support Business Unit during implementation of new clients and services, including ad-hoc training as needed. Maintain MS Access database and Excel files as additional data is received from the business. Create ad hoc reports from MS Access and Excel pivot tables. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school or relevant experience Experience in process oriented business and in a technical environment Ability to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals MS Office Suite Working knowledge of testing methodologies and techniques Strong analytical abilities Must be capable of breaking problems into component parts and addressing each individual issue in order to develop an appropriate and thorough solution Interviewing skills as related to data gathering Detail orientation with the ability to understand how a process fits into the overall business model Ability to understand technical functionality and documentation and produce non-technical documentation Ability to work in a fast paced environment Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with competing priority Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and clients at all levels of the organization Ability to complete assignments with independent thought and action within the scope of specific assignments Conduct research and analysis with minimal supervision Working knowledge of flow chart software (Visio) Three to five years in insurance and/or mortgage servicing preferred Proficient with MS Access and Excel Pivot Tables. High level of experience with maintaining MS Access data tables and creating reports using MS Access and Excel Pivot Tables. Ability to modify MS Access database as new data elements are required.
