Part Time Bookkeeper / Administrator – Maternity Cover The Network Collective is a small but busy independent telecommunications consultancy, based in Sheen, South West London. At present we employ nine full-time members of staff and two part-time. However, we expand every year as our customer base grows and our portfolio of services develops. The position of Bookkeeper / Administrator is integral to our operation, and the person in that role works closely with every member of the team, as well as developing relationships with many of our customers. The job requires somebody who is confident, organised, detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and calm under pressure. They must have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and be able to communicate effectively and appropriately with both customers and suppliers. We are looking for somebody with an AAT level 2 bookkeeping qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience of Sage accounting software is also required. Our office is small and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. There is no strict dress-code, unless we are meeting customers in which case business attire is required. Everybody is expected to get on with their own tasks with a minimum of supervision, and we welcome innovative thinkers who question the way things are done and are always working to find ways to improve operations. Responsibilities • Issuing of invoices and credit control • Payroll • Reconciliation of bank statements • Management of company pension account and other HR admin • Preparation of quarterly VAT return (with assistance from accountant) • Management of staff expenses, including company credit cards • General office admin, including stationery ordering, management of mobile phone contracts, filing etc. • Other duties as required Required Skills/Experience • AAT level 2 bookkeeping qualification or demonstrable equivalent bookkeeping experience. • Experience and knowledge of Sage accounting software • Excellent written and spoken English • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint • Numeracy • Confident telephone manner • Organisational skills • Close attention to detail • Ability to multi-task and work with a minimum of supervision Desirable Skills/Experience • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint • Knowledge and/or experience of the UK and international telecommunications industry The position requires 14 hours of work per week. We anticipate that hours would be worked over two full seven hour days per week, and are happy for you to specify which days as long as they remain consistent each week. These hours are negotiable to a certain extent, if a different structure would suit you better. The position is available from mid-September 2012 and is expected to run to the beginning of May 2013.
