JOB DESCRIPTION iWorks Accounting Technical Consulant Alpharetta, GA Position Responsibilities Overall Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing technical support to SunGard iWORKS EAS clients during the implementation of the SunGard EAS financial accounting system. Secondary responsibilities are to work with those clients already in production to assist them in gaining incremental efficiencies (e.g., system upgrades, increased automation, custom reporting). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for: i Assisting in the overall Project Management for all engagements, specifically as it relates to working with the clientas IT department to support the EAS implementation. i Participating in the data migration planning, and subsequent execution of that plan, for converting data from the clientas current application to EAS. i Staying actively engaged during the implementation life cycle which could include: - Product installation - Requirements gathering - Creation of specifications and coding for inbound and outbound interfaces - Process re-engineering (i.e., improving a clientas processing efficiency through automation and integration). - Custom reporting using the Crystal Report Writer is a desired. - Initial data loads. i Managing the expectation of our clients and supporting the client until they are in production. i Status reporting and maintenance of project plans. i Technical training. i Creating custom modifications as needed by client. This includes complete documentation of any modification for client. i Training client on usage of Crystal Reports, including the prerequisite knowledge of the EAS database structure. i Performing EAS product installations and upgrades. i Preparation of report specifications and report layouts. i Creation of custom reports using Crystal Reports and/or BizNet Excelerator. i Training client on usage of Crystal Reports and/or BizNet Excelerator, including the prerequisite knowledge of the EAS database structure. i As time permits, potential assistance on EAS project engagements for such items as: - Initial data loads - Data feeds - Pre-processors - Technical guidance to clientas IT resources i Ability to develop curriculum and manage projects a plus. * Due to the nature of the work, the ability and willingness to travel up to 35% - 40%% of the time could be required. Position Requirements * A Bachelors Degree is required, preferably with and emphasis in Computer Science. * A Business professional with a minimum 4 a 5 years in the Financial Services industry, preferably in the Insurance industry that would have provided exposure to insurance accounting, as well as statutory and financial reporting. Having knowledge of insurance financial reporting is a plus. * Prior Consulting experience is desirable. * Ability to program in at least one programming language, such as C++, C# or VB.NET. * Proficiency with .NET technology, IIS and CITRIX. * Experience working with multiple database platforms (SQL Server, ORACLE) * Knowledge & Proficiency with Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Solutions and other reporting applications * Candidate must be a proven self starter, capable of focusing simultaneously on multiple tasks. * Proficiency with MS Project, EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint. * Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable making presentations to small or large groups.
