TECHNICAL LEAD JAVA SOAP J2EE Stamford, CT TECHNICAL LEAD JAVA SOAP J2EE Major firm located in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking a full time Java Technical Lead/Architect. The ideal candidate should possess seven to ten years of overall Java Design and Development experience. The firm is seeking a Java Technical Lead/Architect to partner with its IT teams to work with the firms team members to enhance their platforms. This position will, both directly and indirectly, develop, manage and operate all technologies and resources in relation to Third Party distribution systems. The role focuses on delivering successful integrations thereby helping to reduce manual processes and enable revenue management to smarter manage key accounts. Areas of Focus and Responsibility: Ensure delivery of all projects from a technology perspective, successfully working with the firms resources. This will entail producing technical specifications, architecture and design, interacting with business teams on requirements, providing guidance to other developers as well as hands on implementation. Fully align all run, maintenance and project activities of the tech teams with any business teams and other technology teams to ensure the product performs appropriately and to set overall expectations. This will entail producing integration specs, interacting with business teams on enhancements and defects and working with offshore team's team achieve success of work. Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of business and domain knowledge to achieve best technical solutions. Manage technology members, internal and external, to the firms standards. This will include SDLC processes, coding standards, pm requirements, as well as administrative processes such as time tracking, resource management. Key Relationships for this position will include: This person will work closely with these external venders to ensure the timely delivery of projects and support (run/maintenance) activities. Director Global Distribution and the Senior Director of On-lines sales and distribution. The candidate will work with both these Directors to ensure work is prioritized, requirements clarified and to deliver projects. Requirements: College Degree, Course of Study such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field and equivalent work experience. Desirable - Some knowledge of third party interfaces or GDS, particularly in the hospitality industry. Essential - Demonstrated knowledge and experience of software development practices and experience in project delivery and support. The ideal candidate should understand the entire SDLC Technical Capabilities will include: Java, J2EE, RDBMS, UML, SOA/SOAP and Web Sphere are strongly desired. Proven written and oral communication skills, on a business and technology level. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience with Object Oriented Technologies and Methodologies. Experience in working in environments involving direct and indirect support teams. The ideal candidate should possess a good understanding of Java concepts including implementation. The ideal candidate should possess experience with design patterns such as singleton and threading concepts. The ideal candidate should possess good knowledge and experience with collection framework fundamentals. The successful candidate should possess experience as a technical lead. Interview process: Either a telephone and then an in person interview, the in person interview will consist of a technical assessment test and a coding test. This position pays $110,000 per year plus a 20% performance based bonus plus an outstanding benefits package.
