Hi there, I have a project which involves redesigning an existing product (a wall mounted controller) to give it a more consumer friendly appealing housing and design. Please see attached some photos of the product. The exterior of the controller features three main external components. 1) side.jpg - Connection panel with ethernet ports, display led/ports, power switch. Option of external 3g antenna. 2) Bottom of the controller - cable glands for wiring external sensors and outputs. Detachable panel behind which wiring terminals are. 3) Front of controller - two versions are available, one with and one without a screen The current dimensions are approx 35cm wide x 35cm high x 12cm deep (15cm including screen) Internally, there are three boards - a wiring board, and two controller boards. More details, existing layout drawings etc will be available on pmb by request or when project is awarded. The product is fully operational and physically complete. However it uses an off the shelf plastic box housing with some brushed metal trim. This is very functional and works well in industrial applications but is less appealing in consumer/domestic markets. The project consists of the following: 1. Design studies on a customised alternative housing for the product, which is more visually appealing, more consumer friendly and stylish. An example product which we look to as an example of such style and elegance is /. Nest is a very different product of course, but we hope this gives you an idea of the level of style we would like to bring to this product. 2. Advice on materials and construction process, e.g. injection/vacuum molding plastics, trim, finish, etc. Possible advice on housing manufacturing providers available. 3. Inclusion of labelling (company logo, product name, labelling of interface ports, led, 3g led, etc) 4.
