We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for an opportunity in Rochester, NY. Our client is looking for a Network Security Engineer for 6 month + contract position. We have multiple resources currently on assignment with this company and they typically extend people after their initially contracted time. Job Description: Serve as technical advisor responsible for implementing enterprise network security solutions using current and emerging technologies. Under supervision, perform the engineering, installation, maintenance and administration of all technical aspects of corporate network security including software and hardware. Responsibilities: 1. Completes assigned complex or long-term security engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. 2. Analyzes, schedules, implements and documents hardware, software, and facilities requirements for assigned projects. 3. Monitors all aspects of internet and intranet security and ensures ongoing effectiveness. Proactively assesses and makes recommendations for improvement. 5. Performs firewall administration, develops troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution scripts. Identifies and evaluates new security products and technologies. 6. Assigns and coordinates external Internet domain names and identifiers used in network communication and assures their uniqueness. 7. Provides network security support on an after-hours on-call basis. 8. Installation and management of proxy servers and Web content filtering 9. Management of network and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems. Requirements: - A minimum of 3 years network/systems engineering experience, including work experience as a network security administrator. - Proficient in configuration and implementation of Internet firewalls, gateways, VPN concentrators, Internet perimeter devices, complex routed and switched network architectures.
