Software Quality Assurance Engineer Beaverton, OR SUMMARY: Software QA Engineer is to work closely with the software development team, product management, and customer support to create a high level of customer satisfaction by assuring the quality of the our software products. This role requires a strong technical skillset with strong functional skills in communication, teamwork, analysis skills. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1-2 years Java development/test experience Creation and execution of quality assurance test plans Eclipse IDE / Subversion / environment Windows is primary platform Work closely with product development and software engineering teams to aid in design and define acceptance criteria Develop and implement test plans for Java application with SQL Server backend, including manual blackbox testing Document clear, concise and detailed product defect reports and work with developers to ensure successful defect reproduction and resolution Launch new projects as assigned, follow through to completion, and provide ongoing project status to appropriate business owners Work with customer support to resolve customer issues Strong motivation to create customer satisfaction through the delivery of high quality end-user applications and by solving real problems for real users Ability to diagnose and solve problems creatively Ability to communicate clearly to varied audiences in writing, by phone, and in person Must work well in fast-paced, constantly changing environment Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years progressive experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving software quality issues Experience executing manual and automated test suites Understanding of software development practices and software languages Familiarity with Microsoft Windows installing and configuring Working knowledge of defect ticketing system (such as Bugzilla), testing tools and build environments
