IT Program Manager
IT Program Manager Chelmsford, MA Position: IT Program Manager Location: Chelmsford, MA & Charlotte, NC Duration: 6 Months contract to hire Job Summary: The IT Program Manager’s primary role is to lead and deliver complex business-facing projects, and groups of orchestrated projects, from initiation through implementation using Kronos IT project management methodologies. This includes managing individual projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, risk management and communication to project stakeholders, as well as continuous oversight and organization of multiple individual projects and initiatives. Projects will focus in the areas of ERP, ITSM, CRM, and CPQ, with some in-house developed efforts. Successful candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills; hands on experience in project management in an IT organization. Mentoring and oversight of other project managers working in application space will also be in scope for this position. Experience in enterprise – and global deployments of Oracle EBS a plus. Desired Attributes include: • 7+ years experience in Information Technology and at least 5 years experience in project managing strategic application implementations • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to conduct effective meetings • Comfortable working with and presenting to high level corporate officers (Sr. Directors, C-Level, etc.) • Experience leading a team of internal and external resources • Ability to build collaborative relationships among many diverse groups, working in various time zones, who are pursuing disparate goals – including Kronos upper management • BS/BA in Computer Science, IT, Business or equivalent • PMP Preferred Responsibilities: • Working with project stakeholders develop project charter and scope including goals & objectives, resource requirements, milestones and timelines. • Be adept and understanding business needs and requirements and be able to articulate those to a larger audience and migrate to a project plan. • Applying the system development life cycle methodology as appropriate including internal project controls. • Developing a comprehensive project plan consisting of milestones, detailed deliverables, resource estimates, and schedules for each major phase of the project. • Identifying, communicating and managing project risks escalating to IT management and project sponsors as needed. • Managing cross-functional project teams as needed. Tracking all project milestones, deliverables and project issues. • Scheduling and coordinating project status meetings highlighting accomplishments, plans and project challenges to project team members and management ensuring cross-functional communication and issue resolution • Work collaboratively with other Project Managers and IT Managers to manage project dependencies and leverage lessons learned • Oversight and day-to-day coordination of IT Project managers working within the Application space to ensure adherence to IT project management policies, mentoring as needed to increase the maturity level of project management in IT.
