TECHNICAL AUTHOR/WRITER X 2 CONTRACT (6 MONTHS) BASINGSTOKE £230-240 / DAY A leading FTSE 250 company is currently looking for a Technical Writer to work with software developers, testers and business facing teams to ensure that software is documented appropriately at a technical and user level. T he technical writer will also write and execute test scripts against the software logging defects found while providing feedback to software developers so as to rectify any issues found. Key activities Undertake the generation of specifications and technical documentation, both internally and externally. Undertake technical Web Application Testing, driving quality practices into work products throughout the SDLC and ensure test documentation is completed to the required standards. Design and execute manual testing on Web Applications. Understand the business functionality, requirements and technical specifications of the application(s) under test and use this knowledge to enhance testing and documentation. Display creativity in approach and a desire to learn techniques and tools for Web Application testing and documenting. Promote and maintain strong documentation and test practices throughout the SDLC Skills and experience Web Application testing experience. Knowledge of generating acceptance and functional tests from requirements; undertaking structured exploratory testing. Understanding of SQL. Good knowledge of common web testing requirements (cross browser testing). Proven aptitude to adopt new techniques and ideas. Technically minded with knowledge of a programming / scripting language highly beneficial.
