We are looking for a Buyer to work for a leading Aerospace and Defence company based in Whiteley, Hampshire will be working purchasing PCBA's, cables etc for our client. Your role will be to ensure the effective procurement of materials, components, major work packages and services for the site or Business Unit and to coordinate the procurement activities for designated Commodities or for a group of Value Streams within a dedicated value stream. Candidates need to have a minimum of 2-3 years in a Buying position. Ideally from an Electronics or Manufascturing background but not essential. More importantly is the buying experience as the buying team is a small one with a lot of demands on them, so not a lot of time for on the job training etc. This person will be responsible for the full range of buying of products within a dedicated revenue stream - PCB Assembly, Sub-contract Services (Box Build) - plus a certain amount of consumables buying for the company. Buying spend is circa £10m - not a huge manufacturing site - all assembly work is is sub contracted. We are looking for a cadidate who is experienced wqith providing a Full Turnkey Solution as a large proportion of the work is managing and developing the relationships with suppliers over the phone and on site visits. Full driving licence required for site visits - expenses covered.
