QTP Tester, Test Automation Rockville, MD Principal Responsibilities: Serve as independent software quality assurance staff on new and existing projects for our clients. Provide expertise on - QTP, VB Script and Automation, Design and construct test scenarios, scripts and procedures, Execution of test cases and the reporting and tracking of results Provide technical support to deploy web applications in a JAVA/J2EE environment. Coordinate and schedule software releases from Development to QA to Staging to Production environments. Be a senior member of team building software applications for life sciences. Collaborate with product management, developers, and system administrators to ensure timely and robust execution of the project. Write test cases to exercise all aspects of multiple systems in development. Define and implement API based regression and performance tests (Java/Soap) Ensure and extend post-build regression testing (Perl, Ant, Cron, Java, XML) Track features and bugs (Bugzilla/JIRA) Evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall QA process Minimum Qualifications: Must have 5-7 years experience as a QA engineer working in LINUX/Windows environments Must have Senior-level expertise in test automation (QTP, LoadRunner) – VB Script and Automation. Must have experience to debug and trace deployment issues with some system level knowledge. Must have experience with database management would be a plus (preferably Oracle or mySQL) Must have experience in deploy and QA - web application deployment in a JAVA/J2EE environment including using a configuration management system. B.S. or M.S. or equivalent degree with combined education and experience. Understanding of modern software QA theory, practice and methodology Strong UNIX/Windows and shell programming skills (Java, Bash, Perl, Batch scripting, SOAP, etc.) Experience managing testing in agile development organizations Excellent communication skills - able to interface with multiple groups across the company Require Citizenship / Green Card / EAD only
