Master Data Functional - Technical Subject Matter Expert
Position Title : Functional/Technical Specialist – Materials Management<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Department: SE&P Procurement Governance & Services Location: Calgary SUMMARY OF ROLE : This position provides support to the SCM Transformation Master Data Work Stream as a resource to improve the quality of the firm’s Procurement Master Data. The Functional/Technical Specialist is responsible for technical architecture associated with the design and implementation of the vendor, material and service masters and category schema. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: As a member of the Calgary SE&P Procurement Governance and Systems-SCM Master Data Team your responsibilities will include: The design and implementation of the hierarchical material group structure The assessment, recommendation, design and implementation of the SAP structure for firm spend categories The design & implementation of the vendor master partner functionality · Supporting Firm’s SAP SCM environment at an enterprise-level including strong functional and configuration knowledge of SAP vendor, material and service master data. · Assist with the development of the SAP – SCM design specifications as required for business operations · Applying knowledge of SAP best practices · Document and validate design (workflow diagrams and supporting process documentation) · Configure and test the SAP-SCM module · Test integrations to other modules and external systems as needed · Develop test scripts and training material · Participate in User Acceptance Testing and promotion of application to the Production environment QUALIFICATIONS: Direct experience with SAP Materials Management A certification in SAP ECC 6 Strong Functional/configuration expertise in SAP (MM module) Business Analysis: Knows methods/tools/techniques/policies/practices/standards for defining/gathering/analyzing requirements including functional requirements and related deliverables and creating detailed requirements documents Business Process Design: knows business process design, has mastered re-engineering concepts/methods/tools; can assess implications of re-engineering for multiple functions/departments, leads design implementation of supporting org structure Experience working with Information Technology in an integrated Oil & Gas company Business process design experience Experienced in developing data models according to standard SAP practices Experience as a contributor on successful projects Experience in designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures Familiarity with and demonstrated understanding of enterprise business and technical architecture Ability to influence requirements to better meet standards or provide functionality Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements Ability to work independently and in a team environment Demonstrates the ability to solve highly complicated technical issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong documentation skills Strong process analysis and design skills with strength in procedure development, implementation and enforcement Proven experience with business change management Strong knowledge with systems implementations and methodology Strong problem solving skills A high degree of initiative and self-motivation Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel A demonstrated team player QUALIFICATIONS: Certifications – Academic Req’d Asset A technical, business diploma or high school diploma with 2-4 years of equivalent experience. X Experience – Role-specific A minimum of 3 full SAP implementations. X SAP or other ERP functional and technical knowledge, specifically in Materials Management X Experience – Industry-specific A minimum of 5 years in an oil and gas environment. X Abilities – Hard Skills Intermediate Microsoft Office expertise. X Experience with SAP or other enterprise software applications. X Abilities – Soft Skills Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines. X Good analytical, organizational, interpersonal and team skills. X Customer focus and service oriented X Ability to apply innovation and initiative to problem solving and trend analysis.
