Key Requirements and Technology Experience: The Information Security Analyst will play a key role on the Information Security team in a dynamic company. This position will assess information security controls on both internal and external systems, including legacy and new emerging technologies. Familiarity with a variety of technologies and security systems is applied in order to determine risk posed to the organization. The Information Security Analyst will work on ongoing risk assessment activities, such as network scanning, application scanning, configuration reviews, vendor security reviews, intrusion detection and response, and configuration and maintenance of end-user security controls. The individual will need to recommend mitigation strategies based on expertise and analytical skill. Individual will assist on creating and revising information security standards and policies as well as create and produce applicable metrics. Job Duties Responsible for the configuration and monitoring for the McAfee solution, including anti-virus, HIPS, and Data Loss Prevention products Support the Operations Leaders and work with the Security Compliance team in the execution of the Security Compliance Program by obtaining and analyzing data and information required for decisions in planning, scoping, risk-assessing the review and /or conducting assigned testing. Apply professional standards, responsible business judgement and the compliance program methodology for the effective, timely execution of assigned tasks and team responsibilities. Understand the nature and dynamics of systems, products and operations in order to analyze and determine inherent risks and exposures. Conduct analysis of risks and business impacts. Work with business partner entities to develop cost-effective action plans to improve the control environment and operating effectiveness while maintaining security compliance. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, the safeguarding of data, and the adequacy of compliance with Security policies and standards through execution of assigned compliance reviews. Ensure that staff work is completed to the highest professional standards, and that the activities subject to review are complying with business ethics. Execute duties in a participative team environment with effective consideration of time and expense budgets and project/review deadlines. Develop security compliance procedures, supporting tools and reports to evaluate risks and controls. Contribute to improving Information Security effectiveness and efficiency and to meeting our customer needs by identifying and implementing improvements. Perform gap analysis and recommendations for creating enterprise, utility-wide process level methods to close gaps. Track and follow-up against Exception Requests and Gaps to ensure proper closure and resolution. Accountable for the on-going delivery of a violation monitoring core program and security compliance program for systems (midrange, distributed environments, and desktops). Maintain a close working relationship with individuals responsible for standards development to ensure the adequacy of standards developed and to facilitate the challenging of standards from a business perspective. Be proficient in a wide range of technologies and be passionate about protecting the environment, employees, and company assets in all forms. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE Working knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of technologies such as Windows 7, Windows Server, Active Directory, Unix, System I, networking, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention and anti-malware systems (such as McAfee’s suite), and application development. Critical thinking, initiative, and communication skills are required. Industry certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, MCSE, CCNA/P, and others relevant to the subject matter are preferred. Candidates with a history of assessing controls in banking or other financial services companies are preferred. Minimum 6 years combined experience in IT Software and Infrastructure, networking and security. Minimum 4 years working with Internet, web and networking technologies in both Unix and Microsoft environments. Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent field of study is preferred. Training in Information Security-specific disciplines. Solid understanding of and ability to speak authoritatively to security principles such as authentication/authorization, access control, and forensic analysis. Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate to all levels of an organization. Demonstrated knowledge of recognized IT Security-related standards and technologies.
