Website Content/Publications Assistant
Review all visual and written content provided and coordinate the revision of any content that does not meet best practices, is confusing, or does not represent the site in a professional manner. Work collaboratively with colleagues in knowledge management, operations and organizational change management as well as IT experts to create, plan and execute communications strategies across vehicles. . Conceptualizing new initiatives, planning and implementing website structure, user interface, technical documentation, and graphic elements Oversees distributed content and subject matter experts and creates a cohesive team environment. · assist with network of content contributors across multiple departments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and elimination of duplicative content · Provide quality management to assure accuracy and consistency · Monitor search engine entries of site Monitor Google analytics for site, create reports for leadership and reorganize content appropriately. · Monitorrequests for change in the website and associated social media · Represent committees and project teams. · Define and write procedures, facilitate and support business process change related to managing and maintaining the website content. · Ensure content is technically accurate and written in an approachable style · Create banner ads and graphics for web sites and email newsletters Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years experience in related position within higher education IT; or equivalent combination of experience and education. 2. Demonstrated experience in web development and publishing. Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to understand clients' needs, take their perspective and formulate communications accordingly 2. Ability to compose, edit, and proofread written technical materials for grammar, syntax, style, technical accuracy, clarity and appropriateness for specific audiences 3. Thorough knowledge of information architecture and of maintaining high-quality, information-rich web sites 4. Ability to collaborate, gain and maintain trust; Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills 5. Strong knowledge of principles of graphic and visual design. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, 6. Proficiency in MS Office, Internet Explorer, Web development (Dreamweaver, Drupal, XHTML, Javascript, Cascading Style Sheets. 7. Able to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as consultants. 8. Demonstrated ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously, calmly and on deadline, even under pressure.
