Job Title: Software Developer - C#/SQL/ASP.NET/WCP/WCF/Agile/NUnit General description of the role: The Software Developer is responsible for building leading-edge software applications on a C# .Net/SQL Server/ASP.Net platform. Work will be performed in an Agile environment where the emphasis is placed upon achieving high quality. The software developer may be required to be on-call on a rotating basis at key stages throughout the year. KEY TASKS OF THE JOB Key Task 1: Creating development tasks from user stories and produce accurate and reliable software applications Key Task 2: Completing all changes identified at code review first time Key Task 3: Providing accurate estimates as necessary Key Task 4: Building unit tests that prove the correct operation of the code to a specified level of coverage Key Task 5: Producing user stories that accurately reflect the vision of the solution’s requirements Key Task 6: Adhering to documented departmental procedures and methods Key Task 7: Supporting legacy applications as necessary STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Demonstrates understanding of required solution as evidenced by clear documentation of user stories. Produces very high quality output within agreed timescales to meet the stringent demands of our customers.  Demonstrates a pro-active approach to communication within the team as evidenced by software development team kept well informed of progress and any impediments escalated to the team leader. Demonstrates the ability to work on own initiative. SPECIFIC SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Essential; Educated to degree level or equivalent in an IT related discipline. Three to four years experience in C#.Net. Hands on commercial development and Microsoft SQL Server development . Desirable; Experience implementing design patterns and unit testing with NUnit. Commercial exposure to .Net 3.5 WCF and WPF technology. MCP/MCAD/MCSD certification. Experience of working in an Agile environment. Please forward your CV and we will be in contact with full details.
