This position will be part of theEnterpriseApplicationsCenter which is responsible for the implementation and support of administrative business applications, including: Oracle E-Business Suite, Grants Management Systems, ADP, SharePoint and more. Brief Posting Description: The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing the Oracle E-Business Suite R12 in support of business requirements. This position provides hands on technical support of Oracle E-Business applications and modules in support of functional user requirements and in response to technical issues. In addition to Oracle responsibilities the Business/Systems Analyst will work with other systems and applications in support of the Institutes administrative functions including Grants Administration, Legal, and Project Management. Detailed Description: Works with Oracle functional users primarily in Finance, Purchasing and Human Resources to address technical system issues, functionality enhancements, and reporting needs. Works with Administration user community to understand and automate key business processes. Configures and enhances Oracle E-Business Suite modules in support of functional requirements. Works with users in the Administration community to define information requirements and develops methods for extracting required data from existing systems. Provides advanced report development and in some cases integration support between disparate systems and data sources. Provides end-user training on Oracle modules and functionality. Job Requirements: The Ideal Candidate: Will have significant experience supporting the Oracle E-Business Suite in a variety of environments, and experience with upgrading to or implementing Oracle R12. Specifically the candidate will have experiencing supporting the (HR, Financials, Projects, GMS, i-Recruitment, i-Procurement) functionality plus significant skills with reporting tools including (PL-SQL, SQL-Plus, Discover). This candidate will have experience in an academic or research environment that is grant and project centric and that uses the Project and Grants Management functionality in Oracle. This candidate will have “hands-on” experience with configuring and enhancing Oracle modules and report development skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and they ability to work with functional users to identify and define requirements and the technical skills necessary to configure the Oracle environment in support of these requirements. Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years experience in Accounting, Finance or Oracle Application Support. Prefer strong technical knowledge in the following Oracle E-Business Suite Modules: Financials (specifically PUR & GL), Human Resources, Internet Recruitment, Time and Labor, System Administration, Discoverer. Knowledgeable in report writing skills using tools such as Oracle Discoverer, XML, PL-SQL, Unix Scripting and SQL-Plus Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate user functional requirements to technical specifications. Technical skills necessary to configure the system in support of desired functionality. Strong Preference for: Minimum of 3 years of experience with Oracle E-Business Suite. 2+ years of Oracle Application development or Systems Analysis experience. Experience in system upgrades, including patch analysis, testing, custom code analysis, training documentation and issue resolution from upgrades. Experience with system enhancements, including Discoverer, SQL reports and Oracle Reports. Oracle R12 experience is an advantage but not required.
