The developer MUST HAVE experience with consumer-facing web technologies! Currently SM is moving off of .NET to Python and they need someone to help them with this project. They need to make sure their systems are to scale and are capable of handling millions of hits. For the right person, this could lead to a full time position - ie. IF they are willing to give up .NET after this project and learn Python. 1) What are the core skills this person needs to have? We understand it’s a .NET developer, but what specifically? Need a thorough understanding .NET framework from back of the database to UI. They will be working on our Legacy system as we migrate over to Python. They will be working on features and applications for SurveyMonkey’s site that effects millions of users 2) How long has the job been open Just opened 3) How many people have you interviewed? 0 4) You’re using SQL server correct? What version? Yes 2008 5) Do you need any experience with AJAX libraries for front end development, if so, which one? Helpful but not a must 6) What about Javascript, CSS, DHTML, XML, XSL etc – are these important? Need to have an understanding of all 7) What sort of frameworks do they need to know? .NET Framework 2.x+
