Kforce Professional Staffing is looking for a Transportation Coordination Clerk for a large distribution company located in the northern part of Chicago, Illinois. Main Duties: Responsible for coordinating inbound and drop-ship product movement internally within, as well as to outside customers Works closely with Transportation Operations, Sourcing, Carriers, Purchasing, Lean Logistics, other internal departments as well as outside customers Provide daily operational support via the phone for carriers, suppliers Purchasing and outside customers Work with carriers to track and expedite shipments Manage the transportation e-mail inbox to assure prompt response is provided to stakeholders Assist with the booking and tracking of expedite requests from Field Support Assure most up-to-date information is provided on www.supplierconnect.com and intranet page Provide assistance in preparing presentation material during new supplier orientation as well as existing supplier orientation Handle transactional spot quotes Assist with performance and financial reporting Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Exceptional customer service skills and mindset is a must Previous customer service experience is a plus Experience in PC applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel is required and Access a plus Knowledge of SAP is a plus Solid organizational skills to manage multiple priorities Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Impact on Organization: Work relationships External Relationships Freight Carriers Vendors Lean Logistics Internal Relationships: Transportation Operations, Strategy, and Compliance groups Customer Service Inventory Management Purchasing Grainger Sourcing DC's and Branches
