Oracle DBA Atlanta, GA Responsibilities: Day-to-day technical support activities on existing Oracle databases. Provide technical support for in-house functional experts Technical support for the applications, databases and server environment Oracle TAR resolution and management Monitor daily backup reports and participate in any needed recovery efforts System performance monitoring and tuning Database and application upgrades Software installation Resolving Oracle errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization Planning, coordinating, and administration of Oracle database(s), including database definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools Establish and maintain security integrity controls Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. On call availability for a 24/7 production environment Oracle database experience on SUN Solaris, Linux and Windows Oracle RAC knowledge Expert knowledge on Unix Servers (Solaris/Linux) and Windows Strong SQL & SQL tuning skills Expert knowledge on J2EE Servers Working knowledge of Virtual Environment Servers Working knowledge of ITIL Process (Incident/change/Service Request management) Working knowledge on Networking Experience in large scale Disaster Recovery exercises Working knowledge of SAN technologies Experienced in Perl and Shell scripts Experience with Batch scheduling tools (preferred ActiveBatch) Expert knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 5 years Oracle DBA experience required.
