Job Description Sr. Consultant - Business Operations Support Alpharetta, GA We are currently searching for a Sr. Consultant to protect and grow in excess of $450M in network, CPE, and related services E-rate funding requests associated with the K-12 market segment. Provide support in identifying, and distributing 20k sales leads in supporting Verizon's E-rate program annual revenue objectives. Assist in managing the tools, sales automation, management process improvement, and metrics reporting for sales lead processes. Position is to be co-located with the Alpharetta, Georgia sales team responsible for supporting the medium business public sector account base. Job Responsibilities: Maintains direct contact with K-12 customers, including key decision makers such as Telecom Directors, IT Directors, and School Boards to promote Verizon Products & Services, and to proactively encourage the K-12 accounts to apply for, and to leverage the funds made available via the $2.3B Federal E-rate Program for purchase of telecom products & services. Provide Strategic Funding Initiatives Program contact for the medium business sales channel, including serving as the point-of-contact for all customer-facing RFPs, Addendums, and overall program compliance requirements in support of Verizon's E-rate revenue stream. Pre-sales function includes consultative selling, pro-active participation on customer calls to further strengthen the Verizon/customer relationship, and sales results. Lead customer facing sales strategies, involving complex product & service strategies in maximizing Verizon's Products & Services revenues for the K-12 segment, focusing on value-added selling of solutions. Works proactively with Verizon Federal Regulatory teams in developing, and supporting E-rate related product eligibility strategies, in support of sustainable offers for the K-12 customer segment. Provide on-going support for sales training development, and execution required for Federal E-rate Program updates relating to practices, policies, procedures, and compliance. Attendance at the annual USAC training, attended by Service Providers, and customers is of paramount importance in fully understanding on-going E-rate Program requirements and compliance. Experience/Education: Minimum of 15 years in Sales capacity, preferably with Sales Management experience Minimum BBA, MBA preferred Minimum of 10 years experience associated with supporting public sector customers, and/or related Federal Funding Programs (E-rate, Rural Healthcare, Homeland Security, Public Safety, etc.) Must be able to demonstrate superior knowledge of the Federal E-rate Program including practices, policies, procedures, forms, timelines, compliance, etc. Must have a demonstrated level of strong business acumen including sales (solution selling skills), marketing, finance (margin management), accounting, regulatory, and technical (solutions development) knowledge Strong competency in negotiations skills, including customer-facing, vendor facing, and internally within Verizon Superior written/oral communications skills Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, with translation to actionable oriented sales programs is a prerequisite Travel approximately 10-15% Should be proficient in sales tools including pricing tools, SalesForce.com, etc. Job Location: - Position is to be co-located with the Alpharetta, Georgia sales team responsible for supporting the medium business public sector account base.
