Overview: Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 20 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. Procurement Specialist to be a key resource on a technical services team. Responsibilities: Executes critical or very complex corporate purchasing functions by leading critical vendor negotiations, establishing and managing strategic supplier relationships, and surpassing annual cost reduction targets in capital and operational expenditures Skills Strong analytic professional that can develop sourcing strategies, create formal bid packages, validate pricing against industry standards and perform bid response analysis. Responsibilities include procurement projects with the ability to interpret, amend and negotiate favorable contractual terms with vendors. Able to build relationships with multiple departments with the ability to introduce a procurement methodology is essential. Essential Job Duties 5 Years of purchasing and buying experience as an MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) or IT (information technology) buyer. Leads critical vendor negotiations for goods and services including: software license, Hardware & Software purchases, Telecommunication, IT professional services agreements, MRO, Facilities, Travel & Computer Hardware/Peripherals; Establishes and manages strategic supplier relationships, and surpassing annual cost reduction targets in capital and operational expenditures. Assists in the identification of eligible vendors including leading competitive reviews (RFx) and vendor qualification using research of publicly available information and analysis of financial position. Negotiates complex technology contracts independently. Coaches project managers, procurement team, and ERCOT business units, on business case preparation and statements of work, and providing advice regarding contract terms and conditions Teams with Business Users to evaluate vendor performance. Conducts vendor meetings for review of service delivery and initiates corrective action Assists in the development of semi-technical specifications in order to drive 3rd party adherence to contracted service levels Develops and generates reports to upper management on request volumes, response times and after hours support service levels. Schedules and conducts vendor meetings for review of service delivery. Initiated corrective actions if appropriate per contract. Plays instrumental role in facilitating the development of specifications and procurement documents; evaluating vendors; responses; preparing recommendations for contract award; and developing, negotiating and executing contracts as well as resolving contract problems Manages requests for quotes during all stages of development - i.e. from initial request, planning, drafting, editing, to issuance. Coordinates all RFQ/RFP requirements such as vendor requirements and specific measurable deliverables with end user.
