This is your opportunity to work on the client side of this Brisbane based multi-billion dollar Coal Seam Gas project. You will join a small team responsible for $1.2 billion of scope covering over 1000 wells in the initial phase of the project. We are currently seeking an Approvals Specialist who is excited by the challenge of integrating, developing and bringing to full production a major, "world-class" operation. This role is responsible for facilitating environmental and statutory approvals, provide regulatory advice and support for to various project teams as well as spend a portion of time within the Environment and Community team to assist with the delivery of this mega project. Key Responsibilities include: Assist the project teams in achieving sustainable development outcomes Apply environmental expertise to assist engineering teams in good environmental design and construction outcomes Contribute to strategic planning/risk analysis associated with all approvals processes Interpreting and promoting understanding of external regulatory requirements and conditions of approval Facilitate approvals for projects whilst identifying opportunities to increase efficiency in the overall process Ensure compliance with mine Safety and Health as well as Environmental Management Systems The successful candidate will have succeeded in a similar role, ideally within the resources sector or heavy industry, and have a good understanding of the approvals process relating to successful project execution. In addition you should possess; Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental or Planning Law or a related discipline The ability to build relationships across the business High level (written and oral) communication and stakeholder engagement skills Experience working in project driven environments A commitment to achieving best practice The successful applicant will join a high calibre team who are self-motivated and committed to common goals, within a friendly and supportive culture.
