Software Build Engineer/SCM Lo cation: Milwaukee, WI Length: 4-6 month contract, onsite Contract If applying for the role please include an updated resume, availability, your location, and rate. General information : Local candidates highly preferred, but others with outstanding skills will be considered. Candidates must be able to interview in person if requested by client (at own expense) and should be able to begin work with no more than 2 weeks’ notice from time of offer. Must be willing to work on site for the duration of the assignment. W2 and 1099 pay options available. Thank you. 1 role will concentrate on the Software Configuration Management piece: Below are the Knowledge/Skills/Abilities needed for this role: • Responsible for performing build and migration requests for various components • Able to function independently and direct other team members on larger projects and/or balance multiple efforts • Able to analyze and provide accurate estimates and project plans for medium/large projects • Is an expert in 1 or more technology build and migration activities (for example: java builds in a particular business domain; ANT, PERL scripting, WebSphere & MQ administration and development, UNIX shell scripting) • Version Management experience such PVSC or TFS • Shows a demonstrated focus on implementing best practices while reducing costs 1 role will concentrate on the Environment Management piece: Below are the Knowledge/Skills/Abilities needed for this role: Relational databases: (DB2/LUW, DB2/ZOS, Sybase ASE, MS SQL, Oracle) Understanding of object structures and permissions along with export/import of data. Development platforms: (IBM Websphere and J2SE) Understanding of common Java error messages and application configuration. Application integration: (SOAP Web services, IBM WebSphere MQ) Experience in using or developing SOA systems and troubleshooting integration issues. People who have been successful on this team have come from the background of a DBA, developer or websphere admin. Additional skills for environment coordination lead: Organizing WBS based on project requirements, dealing with ambiguity and experience with estimation and budgeting. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience • 3+ years experience with technology build and migration activities • Demonstrated experience and skill with scripting languages like Ant, PERL, UNIX • 3+ years experience with web and application servers build and deployment • Strong attention to detail • Strong technical aptitude and ability to logically analyze and creatively solve issues independently • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
