Job Description: The Customer Care Representative will serve as a liaison for patients, physician offices and internal business units. This position will provide centralized support during the initial set-up phase of new respiratory services accounts. Routine records management tasks will include the annual recertification of Medicare/Medicaid customers and ongoing patient data maintenance. Responsibilities: Promptly respond to inbound calls and faxes and perform all customer support functions for patient care centers. Communicate daily with professionalism via phone and email to establish and maintain rapport with physician offices and clientele; work proficiently with sales representatives, Reimbursement, Pharmacy, Peak Sleep and other business divisions. Develop a high level of organizational, product and procedural knowledge in order to effectively address internal and external customer concerns. Ensure the timely completion of all required new patient set-up documentation. Verify that contents of patient files meet government regulations and company standards; organize and forward to reimbursement and field centers. Accurately and efficiently utilize databases, tracking applications and imaged file systems; process reports as needed. Coordinate the annual recertification of Medicare/Medicaid accounts by established deadlines; remain current on individual state requirements. Obtain and verify authorizations from insurance companies within required timeframe to ensure no interruption in billing. Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in compliance with HIPAA and company guidelines. Participate in projects or perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Data entry, PC, Outlook and Microsoft Office proficiency are required. Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, private insurance, HIPAA and medical records management are helpful. High school diploma or GED required. Preference is given to qualified candidates possessing an Associate Degree in a health care discipline and/or a minimum of 2 years related work experience Bi-Lingual is preferred Physical Effort: Job will require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Approximately 20% of the work day will be spent walking and 80% sitting. Approximately 10% of the entire time may require bending and stooping.
