A Kforce client company, located in Novato, California which is in Marin County, North of the Golden Gate Bridge is seeking an Accounting Manager. It is great for SF or immediate East Bay candidates as it is right where the Richmond Bay Bridge (580) drops off in Marin. Candidates do need a car; as it is not accessible via public transport. The selected Accounting Manager must be a sole contributor; you will not manage staff - but will need to be more experienced than a Sr. Accountant. Position Responsibilities: This position reports to our client's Senior Director of Corporate Accounting Handle the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements for month-end close functions Also support audit functions Ensure proper GAAP standards are upheld You may review accounting policies and processes to make sure proper internal controls are in place The position includes working with foreign currency exchange, cash, and investments as well as accrued and deferred compensation Candidates Must Have: A BA/ BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or the like 7+ years of relevant work experience (mix of private and public experience preferred; minimum 4 years of industry experience is required) Experience with FX transactions Experience preparing materials to support SEC reporting and SOX 404 is highly preferred Knowledge of Oracle GL is required Microsoft Excel (intermediate or above)
