Our client's Planning System implementation is an exciting initiative that focuses on building a common enterprise framework to prepare, analyze, and assess the annual budget, utilizing Hyperion Planning to automate and streamline the process, shifting the effort of finance professionals from heavily manual efforts (rekeying data from multiple reports into Excel, processing budget journal entries, shadow systems, etc.) to analysis and decision-support. Key Responsibilities: * Act as the primary point of contact and 'voice' of the Project with the Local Implementation Manager (LIM) * Gain deep comprehension of business processes, organizational structure, and requirements * Lead design discussions and author significant portions of design documents, specifications, system documents, business process maps, etc. * Escalate issues (scope, resources, etc.) to the Functional Lead or Project Manager as necessary * Manage the project plan within the 'overall' Planning Project plan; ensuring data collection, design-homework, internal briefing deliverables, etc. are completed on schedule Education / Training: * A BA / BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, related field and/or equivalent experience Technical Skills: * MS Office; familiarity with relational and star schema data models and query tools * Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and HRMS * Familiarity with Hyperion Planning, Web Analysis, and Reports * Essbase querying is highly desirable Problem Solving - common problems solved by this employee: * Assisting customers with understanding changes in business process necessitated by software, or system constraints that affect design * Customer complaint resolution / escalation For the Overall Planning Initiative: * Serve as 'voice' through internal design sessions, deliverable analysis, unit testing, etc. * Build various documents pertaining to the overarching planning initiative * Manage completion and quality of deliverables assigned to other project team resources for which the Portfolio Manager has been designated as the 'owner' * Communicate designs and results of testing to end-users, stakeholders, project sponsors, and developers. Work with user group to ensure control unit interests are reflected and that proposed change management, training, and testing solutions align with requirements and resources * Initiate and create visual and/or functional designs of complex user interfaces for the System's project; a multi-year implementation that will have a significant impact budgeting and planning in every department of every control unit * Design complex data / information visualizations * Liaise with developers of product / service to ensure technical feasibility and that designs are properly realized
