Our client located in Washington, DC is seeking a SharePoint Administrator to perform the following duties: Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based Optimizes system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning Provides assistance to users in accessing and using business systems Operating and maintaining Microsoft Office SharePoint infrastructure and applications Troubleshooting day-to-day Microsoft Office SharePoint application issues Patching and upgrading Microsoft Office SharePoint applications Providing user support to Microsoft Office SharePoint users Administering SharePoint Users and Groups Providing support for Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, which the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server uses for as a back-end database Providing support for Microsoft Active Directory authentication for Microsoft Office SharePoint access Developing and maintaining Microsoft Office SharePoint system documentation The SharePoint Administrator may also: Install SQL servers and restore SQL server databases from backups Deploy databases and assist developers in deploying databases in SQL; conduct performance monitoring and tuning of SQL server Develop and test viable disaster recovery plans for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and SQL Server Interact with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system issues Support the design and configuration of complex system landscapes Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel In addition to ability to perform the responsibilities listed above, candidates must meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline Minimum of four years of experience, of which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating computer systems General experience including operations experience on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network With a Master's degree, the candidate will need three years of general experience of which at least two years must be specialized experience. With eight years of general experience (of which six years is specialized), a degree is not required.
