Position:                 Communications Consultant I (17 Month Temporary Position) Competition #:       12-673-02 Closing Date:         August 1, 2012 Location:               Edmonton Salary:                  $46,479.00 – $56,682.00 per annum   Servus Credit Union is looking for a Communication Consultant I to provide communications advice and support to help achieve Servus Credit Union’s vision, mission and Strategic Business Plan. We are looking for a communication generalist with strong writing skills who can work independently while managing a variety of internal and external communication projects. This is a temporary position until the end of 2013 with the possibility of an extension.   The Communication Consultant I will research, develop, implement and evaluate effective communications with internal and external audiences. Internal communications will focus on fostering and retaining an effective, productive and engaged workforce that is aligned with corporate objectives. Externally, this position will support enhancement of the corporate reputation and Servus brand.   Key responsibilities include: Ø  Research, write and edit materials for a variety of purposes and channels Ø  Execute and evaluate effective communication programs and vehicles Ø  Coordinate communication projects to achieve budgets and timelines Ø  Teamwork with members of the Marketing Department to enhance and maintain the integrity of the Servus brand Ø  Communication advice and support for management and staff from across the organization to help achieve corporate and department objectives   Knowledge and experience required: Ø  Two to four years of relevant communications experience plus a related diploma or degree. Ø  Familiarity with communications principles and practices Ø  Excellent writing skills for a variety of mediums and genres Ø  Experience with print, online and AV production Ø  Attentive to detail and accuracy Ø  Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment, adapt quickly to change and manage multiple tasks simultaneously    Ø  Self-starter who works well independently and takes appropriate initiative Ø  Strong interpersonal skills to work with employees from all levels Ø  Proficient with Microsoft software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of SharePoint desirable. Ø  Membership in IABC or CPRS is desirable.   The position reports to the Manager Communications and is located at the Servus Corporate Centre in Edmonton.
