SQL / Excel Report Programmer
We are currently seeking a SQL / Excel Report Programmer. This is a GREAT opportunity to work in the banking industry for one of the Top 20 largest Public Companies in the World. This is a 6 month contract. The team is responsible for reporting home loan modification workout data to Fannie Mae’s proprietary system, HSSN. Top 3-5 REQUIRED skills and years of experience: - 3 - 5 years required Microsoft SQL Management Studio 2005-2008. Strong working knowledge of stored procedures, query design, data mining. - 1-3 Microsoft Office 2007 proficiency, focus on Excel reporting, Pivot tables. - Ability to work independently, collaborate with team via conference calls and live meetings. - Experience building complex reporting from multiple systems of record, research and create qc test cases to prove accuracy. Top 3-5 PREFERRED skills and years of experience: - 1-3 years Project management experience, Visio flow charts, process design. - 3-5+ Microsoft Office 2007 proficiency, focus on Excel reporting, Pivot tables. - Working knowledge of Home Mortgage servicing terminology What are the daily duties/ responsibilities with this position? Take direction from management and work independent on assigned projects. Build reporting in Microsoft SQL 2008 through use of stored procedures, scripts and views to enhance operational productivity as well as creation of executive level KPI metrics. Create mapping documents and develop QC test plans to ensure report accuracy. Soft skills needed or preferred: - Problem solve - Critical thinker - Independent worker. - Comfortable tracking down and speaking with various SME’s throughout BAC in order to resolve outstanding issues. Perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain and modify programs. Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology. Refine data and format final product. Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Test and develop programming modifications. Write new program code using prescribed specifications. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor. Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Write and maintain programming documentation. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
