Bioinformatics Research Scientist (Level III)
We are seeking an exceptional candidate in bioinformatics or related disciplines with a strong interest in transcriptomics, proteomics and other -omics research, ideally in microbiology - microbial communities related areas. The successful candidate will implement and develop new computational approaches for analysis and integration of -omics data and work closely with both internal and external users. The candidate will establish integrated -omics data analysis pipeline using current and new computational and analytical tools for predictive view of cellular functions. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in analyzing high throughput transcriptomics and proteomics data and in modeling and applied statistics approaches for global gene and protein expression studies. Proficiency in a programming language related to next generation sequencing and proteomics analysis and Linux systems is required. A strong track record of publication in global transcriptome/proteome analyses is also expected. The candidate will foster scientific excellence, collaboration and innovation, and promote an active user program. The candidate should be highly self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to conceive and collaborate on a wide set of research activities. This position requires an ability and willingness to work with EMSL users to assist them in achieving their scientific objectives. The candidate must therefore be adept at working with interdisciplinary teams and be willing to mentor, advise and assist researchers with a variety of research interests.
