Postdoctoral Fellow - Protein Biochemistry
The Biosciences Division has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Protein Biochemistry to assist in research supporting the study of novel protein families involved in the metabolism of essential iron by pathogenic bacterial, or in the biosynthesis of hormones in plants. Research involves molecular cloning, protein purification, transient kinetics, molecular modeling, and spectroscopy. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also collaborate with others within and outside of SRI, and take a leading role in drawing from the scientific literature to establish and validate experimental protocols. This position requires detailed record keeping and comprehensive data analysis, management, and presentation in the form of written and oral reports and published papers. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with technical staff across a variety of disciplines in the execution of experimental research. Safety awareness is an integral part of the job.
