We are working with our client in identifying Technical Writers to update their existing design guide. In this role, you will research WLAN features & products to understand how they fit together in order to help customers and partners plan the design of wireless networks. The guide is currently 366 pages composed in FrameMaker and is 4-5 years out of date. There have been 5 major code updates since the document was written so you will review multiple code releases and new hardware product releases to determine where the updates are needed in the guide. The project estimate is 1098 hours to update the guide. You will be working with subject-matter experts (SMEs) who will provide guidance and review the updates. Responsibilities: Work with little supervision or guidance once provided access to the research content and SMEs Take initiative to research new software features and enhancements Map new content to existing document Update verbiage and graphics Obtain SME review and approval Start Date:  7/30/12 Duration: 10/31/12 Location: San Jose, CA. Some virtual/remote work possible if nearby for occasional onsite meetings. Experience Required: 5 years FrameMaker, graphic design (e.g., PPT), technical writing experience. Laptop will be provided by our client with required software.  5 years wireless (Wi-Fi) experience, preferably in WLAN and IP networks  Proven ability to create/update text and graphics that simplify technical content into user-friendly, end-to-end architecture story.  Ability to execute according to the project milestones.
