Planner / Scheduler
Description: · This individual will work in a team environment and assume full planning and customer service responsibilities for assigned product lines including planning and scheduling, inventory management, and achieving a high level of customer service. · The Planner/Buyer will have end-to-end responsibility for their assigned product lines, including raw material planning and purchasing, managing MRP, updating forecasts from customers, generating both high level production schedules and detailed manufacturing schedules, and ensuring that finished goods ship to customers. · Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Creates and administers production schedule to support product demand as well as level load operations. · Establishes effective communication with various groups such as customers, vendors, and packaging plants. · Participates in the business planning process to determine volume assumptions for the manufacturing area. · Anticipates production issues due to capacity and new product launches. · Review capacity loads and identifies possible manufacturing constraints. · Maintain MRP data (safety stocks, production lead times, lab testing times, min/max levels, etc.) to ensure sufficient raw materials to support manufacturing while minimizing slow moving inventory or obsolescence of raw materials. · Responsible for the generation and accuracy of all manufacturing work orders within the MRP system. · Ensures most recent volume assumptions from the business planning process are loaded into MRP system. · Reviews MRP for correctness of parameters such as lead times, bill of materials, buyer/planner assignments, and ABC codes. · Generates purchase requisitions adhering to appropriate purchase authorization requirements and policies. · Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices along with corresponding paperwork, such as CARs or approved specifications. · Resolve AP mismatch issues and ensure supplier payment issues are resolved. · Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials. · Follow up on outstanding or incorrect orders, including corresponding paperwork such as MSDS, Certificate of Analysis, etc. · Approve new component specifications and coordinate with engineering to implement raw material item changes. · Communicate order status and delivery information to internal and external customers. · Generate, coordinate, and track all third party manufacturing activities. · Update metrics as required. · Comply with SOX reporting requirements as coordinated with Finance. · Requires judgment in applying established practices and diversified procedures. · Encounters situations and problems which do not fall clearly within the bounds of general standards precedents. · May adapt or modify methods to meet varying situations. · Takes action as indicated by approved policies and accepted standard practices. · Exercises ingenuity to take action in the absence of previous instructions, to develop new and/or improved work methods. · Resolves problems of an unusual nature, with supervisory review available. · Business, Engineering Degree or related · Minimum of 5 years related experience in manufacturing, materials or supply chain required. · Certified Purchasing Management (CPM), Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Planning (CSCP) desirable. · Experience working with vendors or external customers is desirable. · Experience in an FDA regulated industry experience is preferred. · Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to interface successfully with cross-functional groups, both internal and external. · Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software (SAP, MFG/Pro, One Source, etc.) · Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment required. 3-5 experience Please Note: Submit your resume through this posting.
