Responsible for leading a team of QA analyst and specialists who are developing and conducting software compatibility tests with programs, hardware and operating system within our environment in order to identify software problems and their causes. The successful candidate will also develop test plans, user scenarios and test scripts. The resource will be responsible for properly documenting / reporting software defects, using a bug tracking system. The resource will participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems as well as collaborating with others to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions. Some of the day to day tasks included: 1. Participate in roadmap planning 2. Participate in project initiation process 3. Facilitate and drive cross-team test planning and execution 4. Collaborate with Manager to identify test resources, estimates test effort, define test schedule and milestones 5. Collaborate with Manager to define and create overall strategy and ensures that it is being achieved 6. Identify test resources, estimates test effort, defines test schedule and milestones 7. Define and creates overall testing strategy 8. Oversee all testing staff and activities for all assigned applications 9. Serve as an escalation point for issues involving testing, QA planning, execution, and post-deploy issues 10. Serve as a resource and communication point for decisions about test schedule changes 11. Identify test resources 12. Define test process including required test activities and deliverables 13. Ensure technical resources are organized for effective support of testing 14. Review project artifacts 15. Lead estimation of testing effort This is NOT a position for an automation test lead. MUST have proven experience overseeing resources whose day to day is manual test script writing and execution. Required skills/competencies: BS Degree with excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to communicate, sell and implement business solutions Proven skill with a history creative thinking and problem solving skills Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers and business partners Software development life cycle Testing development life cycle Experience with the following preferred Mercury Test Director/Mercury Quality Center or related Working knowledge of business process analysis, concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field Capable of working independently and as part of a team Strong with methodologies, tools, best practices and processes within specific area of responsibility User must be proficient with all artifacts used during the QA life cycle Certification from a Software Quality Institution or Organization Required Required Certifications: Certification from a Software Quality Institution or Organization Required Other comments: After hours migrations and occasional overtime as needed. Must be available locally for support on weekends.
