Part Time Medical Assistant Instructor
Education Affiliates provides educational programs that deliver real-life career skills in high demand occupations that lead to employment upon graduation and a lifetime of personal growth. Instruction: Maintain a full-time teaching load of between 30-40 hours per week. Meet each class as scheduled at the time and for the length of time designated. Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided, to assure that course content and objectives are met. Distribute and cover all materials as listed on the syllabi and adhere to grading policy on the syllabi. Utilize a varity of teaching styles and methods to accommodate student's learning styles. Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of the course objectives as identified in the syllabus. Prepare and distribute, and review progress reports with each student. Record and submit legible, accurate and detailed attendance and grade records in the required timeframe. Advisement: Participate/assist in registration/orientation processes. Schedule regular office hours for student advisement and tutoring. Professional Growth: Attend regularly scheduled program meetings, faculty in-service workshops, and faculty meetings. Read current journals or periodicals in the respective fields; maintain active certification and/or licensure in the specialty field or subject matter assigned. Attend professional organization conferences, workshops, meetings Submit professional growth plan annually; provide documentation to evidence successful completion of professional growth annually Other: Serve on committees, task forces, workshops, and other institutional improvement activities as needed. Participate in student appreciation, open house, awards assembly, and graduation ceremonies. Other projects or activities as assigned. Requirements • Faculty will hold at least the minimum necessary academic credential (as required by accreditation) and active license or certification for the specialty area or subject field assigned • 5 years occupational experience in the subject field or specialty being taught. • Evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation by appropriate supervisory personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction Preferred: Successful prior teaching experience (adult learners), via course evaluations; letters of recommendation or awards/certifications.
