TEKsystems has partnered with a large biopharmaceutical company located in Gaithersburg, MD that has an immediate need for a Senior Desktop Engineer/Application Packager to assist with the company-wide Windows 7 rollout. Responsibilities: The Desktop Engineer/Application Packager is responsible for the development, delivery and support of the standardized desktop operating environment globally. As part of a team reporting directly to the Desktop Engineering Manager this person will provide a pivotal role in creating and supporting the process to upgrade the community to Windows 7 and Office 2010. He or she will be involved in all aspects of the preparation of the operating systems and application packages that are used to deliver the build and will be able to provide a customer-facing role with regards to the testing and delivery of the build. Required Skills: Mandatory requirements: - 2 years of Windows image creation experience, including Windows 7 - 3 years of either SMS or SCCM experience - 3 Experience with Microsoft Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and package wrapping. - 4 years application packaging experience. Should have demonstrable experience of resolution of problems with packages. Must include ability to handle packaging tasks from request to production. - 3 years experience with Group Policy and Active Directory administration - Working knowledge and experience of ITIL standards and procedures - Knowledge of Service-Now, Remedy or other IT Service management tools - Ability to work on-site in Gaithersburg at client site This is an 18 month+ contract which has the potential to be extended indefinitely.
