Skills 2 Achieve works with young people who have a learning need or a disability. Your volunteering will be innovative in both group and one-to-one sessions and will support Learners who have challenges with their essential skills in both literacy and numeracy. The Volunteer will support the Tutor to deliver the Skills 2 Achieve programme by encouraging and supporting the Learners to achieve their employment/learning aspirations. You may also help with Learner inductions. Volunteers need to be open minded, kind and supportive to the young people, and help them achieve their specific goals in a way appropriate to each individual. You would need to be a team player and work with the tutors to provide a good learning atmosphere for the students. A friendly, outgoing manner together with empathy and good listening skills are important. Volunteers may claim reasonable expenses in relation to their volunteering at Enham, and we currently offer to pay for mileage expenses, which may be claimed up to a maximum of 30 miles return journey per volunteering session, from home to the site where volunteering, and return.
