QUALIFICATION A degree in Mechanical Engineering with particular emphasis on design would be preferred but applicants with an appropriate HNC and a good track record in mechanical design would also be considered. A basic understanding of electrical circuits and system wiring conventions would be an asset. SOFTWARE Must have at least 3 years Autocad experience Some 3D modelling experience, particularly Inventor or Solid Works would be an asset though not essential. Familiarity with the use of MRP systems would be useful although training in the use the company�s specific package will be given. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS General - Must have at least 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment Must be familiar with Drawing Office procedures, BS308 or ISO equivalent standard and be capable of producing drawings to an acceptable standard Must have good communication skills Must be highly motivated and capable of working with the minimum of supervision Must be familiar with the use and limitations of standard engineering materials Must be familiar with standard manufacturing practices and the impact they may have on component design. Must have a proven track record in mechanical design and be capable of designing fabricated structures and electro mechanical systems. . Specific - Must have a good understanding of basic mechanics to be capable of determining the forces present and their effect on mechanisms and structures and to provide effective countermeasures in the designs and where applicable, to be capable of determining the effort required to produce motion in mechanisms and hence the drive requirements
