Mechanical Design Engineer Sheffield (Junction 34, M1) £18-22 per hour 3 month contract initially (will get extended further) Commutable from: Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Nottinghamshire, Derby, Doncaster, Worksop The Company An opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in the bespoke mechanical handling industry. The company thrives on developing systems capable of handling delicate and obscure loads, completing complicated projects and fulfilling unique requirements The Role You will be required to produce clear and accurate designs in line with project specification and budget constraints. As a Design Engineer you will be conducting design risk assessments and calculations in both a mechanical and structural remit. You will liaise with the project management team, organise design review meetings and there will also be some communication with clients. You will also be involved with the quality control of the design process. The Candidate As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer you will have a strong background and experience in CAD 3D Modelling software in Solidworks. You should be capable of producing scoping calculations for sizing simple structure and mechanical components.
