Internal Finance Control Analyst
Background Internal Finance Control impacts a significant part of the AXA Organisation, which is subject to significant level of changes, including organisational design change, new system implementations and acquisitions integrations, which could have an impact on the complexity of continuing compliance. A robust control environment ensures that management, external auditors and other stakeholders can be confident that AXA’s financial statements are correct. We currently have a 6 months opportunity for a Financial Control Analyst to Join the Internal Finance Control team in Ipswich. The role The focus of the role is to work with the business and your colleagues in the IFC team to ensure that any processes that have been implemented have the required levels of integrity whilst allowing the business to achieve their objectives. You will be responsible for Managing and maintaining the documentation, risk assessment, evaluation, walkthrough and remediation of designated processes and controls to ensure ongoing IFC (Internal Financial Control) compliance You will aslo be responsible for: Ensure ongoing accuracy of documentation of processes and controls and associated databases for a designated section of the IFC scope by liaising with the business owners, evaluating and implementing changes as required Document and evaluate of new processes and controls as required. Ensure ongoing design effectiveness, achieved by identification of financial misstatement risks, and identification of existing controls, or design of new controls in collaboration with the business, to mitigate those risks. Manage and co-ordinate remediation activities with the business owners, external auditors and IFC Testing Team to facilitate remediation of deficiencies appropriately and in a timely manner. Assist with the semi-annual Control Self Assessment process. Undertake and document walkthroughs for designated processes. Deliver other project activities as requested by the IFC Team Manager. These may include (but are not limited to) scoping, reporting, substantive testing, project involvement Skills, knowledge and behaviour To be successful in this role you will ideally be Qualified or PQ ACCA or CIMA (Accountancy Qualification) or QBE, however we are also willing to hear from other candidates with appropriate experience / interest, in particular candidates with an Audit or Risk / Control background. You will be used to dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the business, and across all functions - you'll be able to demonstrate an understanding of your clients needs and the ability to create controls that protect the business but in a way that is commercially-focussed. Key to this role is strong verbal and numerical skills. You will have strong problem solving skills, pragmatic and able to hit the ground running in this dynamic environment.
