Commercial Support Analyst / Data Analyst
Job Description Job Title: Commercial Support Analyst / Data Analyst Reporting to: Commercial Services & Commercial Intelligence Manager Type: Contract Rate: Negotiable Key Information: You should be medium to advanced with Excel and be comfortable with V.Lookups and Pivots (the business can teach you the rest). From experience this role does not normally suit a candidate who is studying for a formal Finance Qualification, but a candidate who has a finance background but looking for more of a Commercial career. Currently the team use JDE 8.12 and so knowledge fo this would be good, along with MS Access, etc. Job purpose: To enable the collection of data in order that meaningful analyses can be developed and reported on to further data driven decision making throughout the organisation. The Business Intelligence Department provides informed specialist input to the business on; - Business and market analytics - Guidance and advice on the analytical tools to be deployed across the organisation - Process Improvement Projects . Dimensions Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst Working closely with all levels of Management in all areas of the organisation (Sales, Commercial, Marketing, Finance) EES Turnover c£91m - 2010 Main Responsibilities Regularly review data requirements of the organisation by working closely with key stakeholders. • Production and analysis of Sales results • Production and analysis of customer performance statistics • Processing Dealer Return information • Maintain and develop Dashboards/Scorecards • Preparation and issuing of Project Management reports for the purposes of further analysis • Maintain & develop reporting systems • Create and update presentations with the required data • Ad Hoc assistance to Senior Business Analyst • Work on value added projects as and when required Qualifications, Experience and Special Aptitudes: Access – Basic knowledge Internet – Basic knowledge Prior experience interacting with the public sector desirable 2 years experience of working with Sales Team and/or Customer facing role. Microsoft Word – Intermediate knowledge Microsoft Excel – Advanced knowledge (Daily use of Pivot Tables and V lookup) Highly numerate.• Good written and spoken English Able to present technical information Customer focused. Attention to detail. Communication skills, communicating daily with customers, directors, sales force and other line managers. Ability to prioritise work on a daily basis. Ability to analyse, work through and solve problems. Team Player Good telephone manner Able to engage with audience when presenting on data Resistance to emotional hi-jacking in pressured situations Embrace change
