Accountability: Working to electronic standards & safety/environmental regulations to primarily support the R&D team to Test, debug & fault find prototype hardware (both analogue and digital) for a key NPI project. To complete effective engineering test specifications & working to project timescales this candidate will be required to produce engineering test reports and be able to interface with the R&D design engineers to implement Engineering Change Orders for both prototype and future production PCB�s Essential Functions and Duties: 1. Ensure all safety guidelines, safe systems of work are in place and regulatory equipment are considered as part of all testing procedures and adhere to VTS safety, quality and environmental polices at all times. 2. Work in conjunction with Design Engineers to test, debug & fault find prototype hardware (both analogue and digital) for a key NPI project. 3. To improve quality through the capture of failures, fault cause analysis, remedies to the immediate failure and the long term design solution whilst measuring improvement. 4. To understand the concept behind all the PCB design�s to define long term test solutions for production assemblies. 5. To produce engineering test specifications for each test subject 6. To produce engineering test reports for each test subject. 7. Working to agreed timescales and communicating all progress to the R&D Project Manager Qualifications, skills and experience: 1. Degree level Electronics, HNC considered with relevant experience. 2. Extensive experience of prototype testing in an industrial systems project arena. 3. An excellent understanding of safety/environmental regulations and electrical and electronic standards & regulations. 4. Previous practical experience in an electronic/design would be an advantage. 5. Some experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: PCB design (Altuim): electrical design: EMC: FEA: power electronics (SMPS design) 6. Strong analytical skills and the ability derive, communicate and implement solutions on the project hardware following test. 7. Self-starter meets commitments with a real sense of urgency. 8. An excellent team player 9. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
