The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting agency, jumbo, VA, and FHA loans to established company and investor guidelines. The position requires that the candidate have the ability to clearly communicate underwriting decisions and stipulations to sales and processing staff. Functions Include: Underwrite a full range of mortgage loans including agency, jumbo, VA, and FHA loans Review all mortgage applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness Scrutinize the loan documentation for indications of fraud or misrepresentation Provide credit / underwriting support to internal and external processing and sales staff Work with compliance officers to ensure Federal, State, and local compliance of all mortgage and loan materials Underwrite mortgages on a timely basis, adhering to all service levels Ensure that quality of all loans meet investor and our client's standards The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience is required of which at least of the 2 years were spent underwriting FHA Loans Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working with automated loan origination systems Proficiency with automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector At least 2 years of experience at underwriting borrowers with complex financial and income statements At least 2 years of experience preparing cash flows on partnerships, s-corporations, and corporations Knowledge of mortgage lending laws and regulations required Functional knowledge of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines and regulations Must be organized and detail oriented Ability to effectively prioritize the workload and meet deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information All qualified candidates please apply directly to this posting or email your resume to Amber Perrone at aperrone@kforce.com
