System Integration Test Engineer
Please note this is a 1 year contract position. • System Integration Test Engineer: In cooperation with marketing product managers, systems engineers, members of the development team and quality, this position will have responsibility for participation in requirements and design reviews of public safety products and product suites. The engineer is then responsible for generation of test planning, test design and test cases and subsequent use of test systems to verify and validate public safety products. There is an emphasis on development of test suite high-level designs, a high degree of test automation of functional and performance/stress testing and support of Interactive and Incremental Development (IID). Applicant will be responsible for proper planning, tracking and metrics-driven reporting of their activities. Problem reports are submitted and resolutions are verified. Candidate will work closely with development and system release teams throughout the software life cycle. Experience in agile software development environments is crucial. •Responsibilities include but not limited to: The ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team (engineers, testers, business people), work in a decentralized/self-organizing management structure, be peer-motivated, understand software architecture documents, communicate clearly with others (verbal and written, formally and informally), be flexible in responding to a changing business environment and changing business requirements. • Specific Knowledge/Skills: Must have at least 2 years of experience working in a system integration test environment, experience working in an environment using agile software development methodologies. Applicant should be detail-oriented and be experienced in problem-solving and permanently fixing process problems. Must have good interpersonal/communication skills, work well independently and work effectively in a team environment. Experience with automated testing (including Mercury or TFS) is a plus. Understanding of multi-tier/client/server and SOA software/system test methodologies, familiarity with IBM/Rational tools (Robot, Clearquest) as well as Microsoft Team Foundation, .Net, Oracle, Windows, scripting languages, SQL Server, Visual Basic, RAID, or network communications is desired. Public Safety Applications domain experience is highly desired. Ability to develop simulators to verify proper operation of client products with certain third-party products is desired.
