Expert Oracle DBA Needed in Austin, TX! (1164116)
Come Work for a Leader in IT Services and Business Process Outsourcing! Our client is in need of a talented Senior Level Oracle DBA for a 6 month temporary assignment in their Austin, TX location. The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for the following tasks: provide daily support for 24 hour, 7 day per week Oracle services and databases; implementation, testing and maintaining recovery and backup procedures using RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager); Installation, maintenance and refreshing of Oracle databases for development, test and production environments; when necessary will perform database patching, migration an upgrading; maintain database configurations so that they continually comply with security policies and standards; create and manage user access; design & implement security architecture; continually monitor error logs, security breaches, space, user activity & resource utilization of production environment; make sure production systems meet availability and performance requirements; garner and maintain in-depth knowledge of the application functionality and the database architecture for multiple, complex applications; perform database design and implementation for different projects; provide expert assistance in SQL statement partitioning, tuning and indexing in order to improve application performance; work with other teams to encourage changes to production and other environments. Requirements: The Ideal Candidate will possess the following Education and Experience/Skills: - A 4 year college degree in computer or related field is preferred. - Must have 4 or more years experience in Oracle database administration and development. - Must have experience with supporting 24x7 mission critical databases. - Must be available for after-hour on-call support. - Must have hands-on skills and knowledge of Oracle 10g & 11g database design, implementation, and administration in Linux, UNIX and Solaris environments. - Must have Experience in RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager) backup and recovery. - Must have strong knowledge and skills in performance tuning from the perspectives of both database design and SQL coding, with a good understanding of RAC, physical and logical standby, as well as other disaster recovery and high availability technologies. - Must have experience in both physical and logical RDBMS designs. - Must have very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly. - Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment, with the ability to multitask and be a team player. - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. - Proficiency in Unix shell script program is a plus. - Knowledge and experience in DB2 is a plus. **Local Candidates are Highly Preferred** ***Volt Workforce Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer*** Location: Austin, TX Type: CONTRACT Duration: 120 - 180 Days Pay Rate: DOE Contact: Volt Technical Resources 7490 Opportunity Rd.
