The Principal Network Engineer position performs the analysis and design activities related to a high level of network architecture expertise. This position requires the ability to supervise multiple projects and various levels of staff. This position requires a strong technical background, general business knowledge, and the ability to routinely interact with various staff, business units and management. This individual must be able to work independently and drive to improve processes and technology within the department and business segments. The security risk level for this position is high; therefore, the incumbent may be subject to additional background screening requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CCNP, CCIP, CCDP, CCVP or CCIE certification SCNP, CISSP certification Expert understanding of network concepts and terminology to include, VLANS, routing protocols, Voice over IP, Quality of Service, WLAN, MPLS, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP, data center design Expertise in network security and cross functional security related to governmental requirements Expertise in integrated voice, data and video solutions design and support Experience in large enterprise environments and working in a corporate/divisional model Experience in International network solutions and support High competency with routing and switching protocols, design concepts and configurations High competency on video conferencing designs, and solutions High competency on firewall and Internet content filtering solutions Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA in Business or Technical fields or equivalent years of experience 3+ years of Information Technology experience
