The Digital Media Engineer - Archive position in Burbank, California will involve working with/managing the selected archiving vendors through the deployment and qualification phase, which is most of the next two months. This person will be the primary contact for the vendors, deferring to the manager when they can't answer a question or make a decision on an implementation detail. In addition to the vendors, this position will also be working with the software developers that need to integrate this archive solution into the company's existing software stack for both functionality and performance tuning. The following skills, knowledge and experience are required for this position unless noted otherwise: Experience in Media Technology (MT), not just IT Experience in archiving / preservation / vaulting / library / LTA (Long Term Archive) Knowledge of object stores Fluent in multiple forms of digital storage (spinning disk, tape, optical) Experience with HSM systems / tiering Linux/Unix experience a must Worked in a "big data shop" - HPC, satellite imaging, M&E, biomed, and other imaging
