Network Management System Engineer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The successful Network Management Engineer candidate will be part of a high-performance technical team comprised of Senior System Engineers charged with implementing our customer's IPv6 enabled private Cloud infrastructure in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Responsibilities: Participate in project meeting(s) for highly complex project definition, needs assessment and design review Evaluates the needs and requirements of the users Provides technical expertise in the development of technical, structural and organizational specifications Prepare recommendations and presentations to technical leadership & management Assist the network management lead in the definition of a network management identifying the necessary system instrumentation, event management, and presentation to effectively assist operators in problem identification, resolution, and root cause analysis Of primary importance is translating this into a concrete implementation using an NMS product suite consisting significantly of SCOM, IONIX, and NetQoS The successful candidate's primary strength is IONIX deployment including SCOM integration. The candidate will demonstrate analytical/problem solving skills, the ability to interface equally well with various levels of technical personnel that include government personnel, subject matter experts, and senior level stakeholders. Requirements also include (required unless noted otherwise): Recent experience with EMC Ionix deployment to include Server Manager Deployment of MS SCOM as Manager of Managers Instrumentation of IPv6 networks Enablement of NOC operators through instrumentation tuning, data reduction, and intuitive presentation Experience with highly virtualized environments DNS, DHCP administration Configuration and maintenance experience with Windows Server LINUX, MS Windows, MS Exchange Server Ability to organize work activities Support user and system migration activities Assist with project plan, risks / issues, and training & communications plan 7 - 10 years of experience developing NMS solutions 8570 certification, Security + BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field is desired MSCE certification is preferable Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
