Position Overview: The Risk Control Analyst supports the control discipline within the Transacting and Credit Risk Management (TCRM) organization, Our Client's Middle Office functional group. TCRM is responsible for measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting the market, credit and operational risks associated with Our Client's physical and financial commodity transacting activities. The position serves as a Jr. Level Risk Analyst position and reports to the Transacting and Credit Risk Manager. The position supports compliance with relevant risk policies through: The independent review and validation of transactions. Confirmation that transactions are consistent with approved policy risk limits. Verification of accurate and timely recording of transactions in the system of record. Regular reporting of transaction activity and associated positions. Additionally, the Analyst plays an active role in designing and implementing the functional and technical requirements for Information Technology system upgrades that support Risk Monitoring and Reporting processes. Note: This position may be eligible for Situational Offsite Work, subject to the completion of a Supplemental Labor Offsite Work Memorandum of Understanding. Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor all Trading and Marketing positions to ensure that they are in compliance with Corporate policies, and consistent with established limits. Prepare, produce and distribute Management Reports for Physical and Financial Transaction Positions and Limits, Net Revenue and Market Risk Measurements. Communicate Limit Violations to appropriate Staff and Executive Team. Support the development, documentation, implementation and maintenance of IT Solutions to support accurate and timely Transaction Recording, Confirmations, Compliance Monitoring and Reporting. Support other Risk Control Personnel in miscellaneous tasks and projects. Support New Product Approval Processes, providing comment and analysis on control, systems and Valuation Implications of proposed product in collaboration with the Manager. Serve as the Primary or as a Supporting Middle Office Representative on Front/Middle/Back Office IT Trade System Team to ensure system accuracy and data integrity, to collaborate on system upgrade and ad hoc configuration issues, and administer system usage. Perform Daily Control Function activities, as well as miscellaneous tasks and projects in collaboration with other Control Personnel. Perform regular and ad hoc Exception and Variance Analysis. Reconcile all transactions, as well as monitor and assist in resolution of any Reconciliation disputes. Source Forward Curves or independently validate Forward Curves sourced by the Front Office. Aggregate various Market Data components and process for uploading (e.g. prices, Volatility Curves, Correlation Matrices) to Trade Management System for daily Portfolio Valuation. Interface between Transaction Groups, accounting, IT, Internal Audit, and Quantitative and Credit Risk Personnel within TCRM. Conduct Analysis, Monitoring and Reporting through the use of various software applications, including Excel, VBA, Access, SQL, C#, R, and S-Plus.
