I want to display stock quotes in-line with text on my site. I tried Google gadgets and Yahoo's applets, but they don't work well and show only large panels with stock quotes in table form. That's not what I want. I want this: "We're interested in IBM (IBM $193.95) below $180..." I don't care where the data is sourced as long as it's accurate, and continues displaying the final closing price after hours. (One script I tried showed the price as $0.00 after hours.) I'm running Wordpress 3.4.1 and tried the Stockviz plugin at /plugins.aspx, which is supposed to give me the above result with this simple tagging convention: [stockquote]IBM[/stockquote]. Unfortunately, it always displays $0.00 as the price. If it worked as advertised, it would be the perfect solution for me. Thus, I'd like you to make a script or plugin that's as simple as the Stockviz tagging convention -- but that works. It must also work from behind my subscriber password-protected area, by the way.
